TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions, govern the use of rental services provided by Global Rent a Car Skopje. By making a reservation or renting a vehicle from us, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

YOUR RENTAL INCLUDES:

• Third-party liability insurance

• Zero deposit

• Unlimited mileage for ALL cars

• Location fee

• 18% VAT (local tax)

RESERVATIONS, PAYMENTS, MODIFICATIONS, AND CANCELLATION POLICY:

• Payments: We accept payment in cash at pick-up only, with no prepayment required to secure your reservation. Accepted currencies include EUR, GBP, CHF, USD, AUD, CAD and MKD. All payments will be converted based on the current exchange rate to euros on the day of payment.

• Required Documents: A copy of your driver’s license and passport/ID is needed for every reservation (all personal information will remain confidential).

• Timing: If the required documents are not provided via email or WhatsApp within 6 hours of making the reservation, the reservation will be automatically canceled.

• Modifications: Reservations can be changed up to 48 hours before the rental period.

• Cancellations: Bookings may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the rental start date.

• Minimum Rental Period: During July, August, December, and January, the minimum rental period is 7 days. Reservations made for fewer days during these months may be cancelled by the lessor.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RENTER:

• Eligibility: All tourists visiting North Macedonia, as well as Macedonian citizens living and working in EU countries, the USA, Australia, Canada, etc., are welcome.

• Age and Documentation: Renter must be between 21 and 65 years old and must have a valid personal document (passport and driver’s license) with at least one year of driving experience.

• Authorized Drivers: Only persons listed on the rental contract may drive the car. We do not charge extra for a second driver, but please inform us in advance to include the second driver in the rental contract.

• Additional Insurance for Young Drivers: Exceptions may be made for drivers under 21, but additional insurance is required.

• License Requirements: If your license is not in the Roman alphabet (e.g., Arabic, Greek, Russian, Chinese), you must bring an International Driver’s License along with your domestic license. If renting outside the EU, an International Driver’s License is typically required regardless of the alphabet.

• Reservation Cancellations: Global Rent a Car reserves the right to cancel any reservation that appears suspicious, as past incidents have involved smuggling, theft, or other criminal activities with rented vehicles.

TERMS OF RENTING:

• Location: Vehicles are typically rented from Skopje City and Skopje International Airport (Meet & Greet). Delivery to other locations and countries is also available for an additional fee.

• Vehicle Inspection: Upon signing the rental contract, a vehicle inspection is completed and documented. Upon return, an authorized employee will inspect the vehicle. Any damages caused by the renter and not covered by insurance must be paid for at that time.

RENTAL PRICING:

• Currency: All prices are in EUR.

• Rental Period: The rental period is counted in 24-hour increments from the time of pick-up. If the car is returned within 1 hour after the scheduled time with valid reasons, no charge will apply. Delays of more than 1 hour incur an additional full day’s rental charge

• Transparency: NO HIDDEN CHARGES!

• Our vehicles are fully equipped, have passed technical inspections, and include essential features such as air-conditioning, airbags, ABS, and power windows. All vehicles are insured for third-party liability at the highest rate.

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS:

• General Maintenance: Our rental cars are well-maintained and in excellent technical condition.

• Minor Issues: For minor issues, please drive to the nearest garage and keep the invoice for reimbursement.

• Major Issues: If a major technical problem arises, contact us using the emergency number on your rental contract, and we will send a replacement vehicle promptly.

NO NEED FOR DEPOSIT

Deposit Policy: No deposit is required when you book with us. If damage is caused solely by your actions, our staff will fairly assess the amount of the damage, which you will be required to pay at the end of the rental period.

WORKING HOURS

Monday to Sunday, 08:00 - 22:00

Reservations outside working hours incur a pick-up fee of 15€.

GENERAL TERMS OF PROTECTION PLANS:

• Optional Coverage: Extra coverage options are available to suit your needs, from reduced damage excess to full coverage.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)

• Limits: Limits driver’s responsibility for damages to 750€ for all vehicle categories.

THEFT PROTECTION (TP)

• Coverage: Covers theft or attempted theft of the vehicle, excluding personal belongings, with a 750€ excess limit.

PASSENGER COVERAGE (PAI)

• Optional: Covers the driver and passengers in case of injury or death as per current insurance regulations.

CDW+ (Collision Damage Waiver Plus)

• Enhanced Coverage: Reduces damage excess to 750€ for all vehicle categories.

SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)

• Full Protection: Reduces responsibility to 0 for vehicle body damage.

WUG (Wheels, Undercarriage, Glass Protection)

• Full Coverage: Covers undercarriage, glass, and wheels of the vehicle.

IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR THEFT:

Steps:

• Secure the vehicle until picked up by the lessor.

• Gather witness details and report the incident to the police.

• Provide a statement to the nearest office of the lessor as soon as possible.

• Important: If a police report is not provided, selected insurance protections (TP, CDW, CDW+, SCDW) will be void due to non-compliance with the rental agreement.

NON-COVERED COSTS:

• Loss of luggage or personal items

• Parking tickets or traffic violations

• Damage from incorrect fuel usage

• Lost, stolen, or damaged keys or documents

• Damage due to negligence (e.g., empty battery)

• Damage to the car’s interior or lost equipment

• Damage from unauthorized drivers or misuse (e.g., racing, off-road driving)

• Any costs incurred while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

ADDITIONAL FEES:

• Lost Key: 300€+ depending on vehicle model

• Lost Documentation or Plates: 150€ (police report required)

• Vehicle Cleaning: 80€ for special cleaning (e.g., odor removal, animal hair)

• Smoking Penalty: 75€ if smoking occurs in the vehicle

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS:

Insurance protection plans are invalid if:

1. The driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

2. No police or European report is provided for accidents.

3. The vehicle is used for paid transport, towing, or by unauthorized drivers.

4. The car is driven off-road or in racing events.

5. Any person not listed in the rental contract operates the vehicle.

By renting a vehicle from Global Rent a Car Skopje, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the above Terms and Conditions.
